Dr. Charles Brown graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana with a BA in Physcology. He held honors in Phi Beta Kappa. He furthered his education and graduated Cum Laude with a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He held honors in AOA while at the University of Texas. Dr. Brown completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri Medical Center, in Columbia, Missouri in 1976. He completed his Radiology Residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and became board certified in diagnostic Radiology in 1979. During Dr. Brown’s Military Service, he served as Chief of Gastrointestinal Radiology, Chief of Body CT and Ultrasound, and Chief of Diagnosis in the Radiology Residency Program of Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas. Dr. Brown’s professional appointments include Assistant Professor, Department of Radiology, Chair at Mercer University School of Medicine, Savannah, Georgia Campus and Member, Graduate of the Medical Education Committee at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Brown served as Chief of Ancillary Services, and Chief of Staff, and a Member of the Medical Executive Committee at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Georgia from 1986 to 2008. Dr. Charles Brown is licensed in 9 states to practice Diagnostic Radiology. He practiced as a solo Radiologist for 22 years in Southern Georgia prior to accepting the Radiology Residency Directorship at Savannah Health University Medical Center In Savannah, Georgia just a few years before joining South Georgia Radiology Associates in 2012.
